At POPin, our mission is to provide a platform where people feel safe to speak their mind. Anonymity is a key capability we provide and we enable heroes to ask a Question and collect answers in one of two ways: anonymously or named. It’s important to note that for each Question asked, all respective responses can either be one or the other, not both. In other words, there are really only 2 equations that exist within the POPin realm:
1) Question + Anonymous Responses = When a question is set to collect anonymous feedback, actions you do with that question and its answers will appear to be done by “Anonymous”. Any content you post for the question will indicate "Posting Anonymously". The hero along with other participants collaborating on the same question will not be able to associate you with any of the content or action for the question.
Your writing content & style: If you write personally-identifiable information or in a consistent style while anonymous, you should know that others may directly or programmatically be able to figure out your identity.
2) Question + Named Responses = When a question is set to collect 'named' feedback, your name will be associated with that question and will be tied to any actions you do for the specific question. Any content you post for the question will indicate "Posting as [your name]". The hero along with other participants collaborating on the same Question will have full visibility into who answered and commented.
If you have any questions or comments about how anonymity is being handled in the product, please contact us using the Help feature in your settings. We're happy to help.
